The Spirit of Community Dance

In October 2013 my two oldest children participated in the Community Dance project "Perspektiven" of Dutch choreographer Wilfried van Poppel and his international team de Loopers who work in the spirit of Royston Maldoom. About ninety dancers from all social districts of the German city of Bremen, most of them children, took part in this project. Combining the frequent car rides to the rehearsals with something creative for myself I started to document the making of this ambitious dance2gether project. It focused on the miserables lives of children worldwide bearing slavery and exploitation and was supported by Unicef and the museum Kunsthalle Bremen.

This work has been my personal inspiration and tangible entrance into the world of photojournalism and documentary photography leading to a second education.
